Glastonbury Festival organisers refute Prince rumours
Any avid Prince fans hoping to see the singer at Glastonbury Festival this year are likely to be sorely disappointed, as organiser Emily Eavis has denied that the purple musician is playing the fest.
“He’s someone that will be amazing one day, he’s somebody that we haven’t had, and we would love to have him at Glastonbury. But no, no we haven’t,” Eavis told BBC Radio 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs.
She continued: “For me I get really excited about the new stuff, those on the Park Stage and the smaller stages around the outside of the site which you. You can find someone who is brilliant, and think you can put them on here, because by June everyone is going to be really excited about them.”
Glastonbury runs this year from 25-29 June, with the likes of Blondie, Arcade Fire and Warpaint already confirmed.
Prince, meanwhile, was recently in the UK playing a series of intimate shows in London.
