Girls Names say they've never heard of Nick Cave in their "A Hunger Artist" video
Belfast outfit Girls Names have revealed their visuals for "A Hunger Artist", in which they appear on a (probably) deleted scene of some U.K. chat show.
In a pre-interview, the host tries to get blood out of a stone as frontman Cathal Cully sups wine and claims to have no knowledge of some dude named Nick Cave. The single is taken from the band's upcoming LP Arms Around A Vision.
The clip is directed by Matthew Reed, who says: "The video is a homage to the types of performances you used to see on British TV programs like Tony Wilson's ‘The Other Side of Midnight' in the eighties. We wanted to try and capture the weird atmosphere those performances had. When you found spiky, totally avante-garde music suddenly sharing space with stilted and awkward regional TV. With a bit of humor thrown in for good measure."
Arms Around A Vision is out 2 October on Tough Love.
