Gin Wigmore announces new record Blood To Bone, shares lead single "New Rush"
New Zealand soul-rocker Gin Wigmore has announced a new record, Blood To Bone, and its lead single "New Rush".
Wigmore has worked with a few big names on the follow up to her double-Platinum Gravel & Wine LP; it's self-produced, but features co-writes with Charlie Andrew (alt J) and DJ Khalil (Kendrick Lamar).
Speaking about her work with Andrews, Wigmore said:
"The idea of us co-writing together was unexpected for us both... because Charlie is largely known for producing, we were both sort of in the deep end with each other. Charlie sort of opened a door for me to see I could do it myself - he played a huge role in terms of changing my headspace and showing me what is possible with electronic sounds. Charlie showed me about 808s, loops, pedals and samples - all this manipulation of sound that I had never know about before".
Blood To Bone is out 2 October on Island. "New Rush" sees release on 27 July.
