Gilbert & George, David Shrigley & more reveal Secret 7″ artwork
Secret 7″ are set to return for Record Store Day 2013 later this month, giving music-buyers the chance to get their hands on surprise special releases. The likes of Gilbert & George, David Shrigley have designed the individually unique packages, with all the artwork now revealed online today.
The initiative sets out to raise money for charity, this time round for anti-gang violence group Art Against Knives, by selling seven 7″ by a number of major artists. Each vinyl is specially packaged so you don’t know which you’re getting until you open it.
Among the artists designing the sleeves this time round will be Brit-art royalty Gilbert & George, contemporary Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, visual artist David Shrigley and many more. All 700 covers can be found here.
The acts taking part this year are Elton John, Jessie Ware, Nas, Laura Marling, Nick Drake, Haim and Public Enemy. View the first 8 designs below:
