Ghetts, Goldie and Tiffany Calver to host free music classes
Ghetts, Goldie and Tiffany Claver are among the artists that have signed up to the music education initiative FutureDJs, which will see artists host a series of free music classes from a virtual classroom in the wake of COVID-19.
FutureDJs is a new music education initiative that will provide free weekly music classes, which is one of the subjects that could potentially be eliminated from the national curriculum due to the impact of COVID-19.
In a bid to get as many students involved as possible, FutureDJs will be bringing in some big artists to teach these sessions, kicking off on Saturday (29 August) with a one-hour class from Ghetts about the art of MCing and lyrical flow.
Goldie, Danny Howard and Tiffany Calver have also signed up to teach DJ workshops, and WhyJay is due to teach a production masterclass.
The artists/teachers will host their class from the world's first virtual music classroom - Virtuoso - which is based in Manchester.
Austen Smart, the co-founder of FutureDJs, says, "FutureDJs is all about making music education accessible for all. Our ambition is to unlock the creativity of as many young people as possible, and carry on inspiring the next generation of MCs, artists and creators - especially during this time of social distancing and reduced education."
