George Michael's eight favourite songs revealed a true lover of music, craft, fun and bangers
George Michael's Desert Island Disc choices were a tribute to some of pop music's greats.
Appearing on the BBC's Desert Island Discs back in 2007, the immensely talent singer and songwriter - who penned "Careless Whisper" at the age of 17 - chose eight songs that showed a man with impeccable music taste.
Michael, who passsed away this weekend at the age of 53, picked songs by Kanye West, Nirvana, the Pet Shop Boys, Gnarls Barkly, Goldfrapp, Roxy Music, Rufus Wainwright and Amy Winehouse for his choices, with Winehouse's "Love is a Losing Game" being his favourite. The full list of his songs is below:
- Kanye West - "Gold Digger"
- Rufus Wainwright - "Going to a Town"
- Gnarls Barkly - "Crazy"
- Goldfrapp - "Paper Bag"
- Pet Shop Boys - "Being Boring"
- Nirvana - "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
- Roxy Music - "Do The Strand"
- Amy Winehouse - "Love is a Losing Game"
For his favourite book to take to a desert island, Michael picked "any book of short stories" by Doris Lessing and for his luxury an Aston Martin DB9 car.
