North Welsh experimental noise group, Gallops have revealed they are breaking up.
The band, who released debut album Yours Sincerely, Dr. Hardcore on Blood and Biscuits Records last year, have confirmed that the band “is dead” but “music will continue”, with band members set to pursue separate ventures.
The official statement, posted on the band’s Facebook feed, reads as follows:
“Hello Earth,
We are sad to announce that as of now Gallops is dead. We’ve been to some really great places over the last 6 years and met some amazing people but Gallops as we know it has unfortunately run it’s course.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us along the way.
Watch this space for future projects from members of the band. Music will continue, Gallops will not.
Love you all,
Mark, Paul, Dave, Brad”
The split means the band’s full upcoming live dates have been cancelled with immediate effect, including a planned appearance at Brighton’s Great Escape.
