Fyfe returns with stellar new track "Love You More" ahead of second record
Fyfe is back with "Love You More", a rather appropriately monikered new single given the date, previewing his eagerly awaited second LP.
The high-energy pop tune is splattered with keys and samples, with jittery percussion and Fyfe's repeated mantra of "I can't love you / I can't love you / I can't love you... more" rattling between space-age synths. It's the first new music since last year's Stronger EP.
"Love You More" is described by Fyfe as "the voice of a parent documenting the changing relationship with a growing child. The conflicting desires to protect, but also to see them flourish. Sometimes the most loving thing is to let go."
As well as the new track, Fyfe's detailed a new headline date for 4 May - he'll play London's Omeara.
Last summer we spoke with Fyfe, and he gave us an update as to the status of LP2: "[It's] going really well. I feel in the last few weeks I’ve started to understand it more as a whole body of work which will help when tying it all together and writing the last few songs."
