Fyfe announces new record The Space Between
Fyfe has announced new record The Space Between and shared "Belong", a new collaboration with Kimbra.
"Belong" is the first 'official' single from Fyfe's second long-player (although he did drop "Love You More" back in February). The Space Between follows last year's Stronger EP and his Control debut.
"['Belong' is about] the desire to find purpose in a transient life," Fyfe explains. "A relationship can be helpful or a hinderance in terms of understanding who you are and ‘Belong’ is documenting someone starting to pose those questions, rather than providing the answers."
The album follows a loose narrative, starting out in a hospital ward and finishing on a funeral scene, and came together in vastly contrasting circumstances - Fyfe became an uncle three times but also lost friends and family members. As such the record sees the multi-instrumentalist veering through big statements on love, loss, and life.
Fyfe plays London's Omeara on 4 May.
