Future Of The Left awarded Welsh Music Prize 2012
Future Of The Left have been crowned the second recipients of the Welsh Music Prize this evening (18 October).
The group were handed the accolade at a ceremony at Cardiff’s Swn festival for their latest record, The Plot Against Common Sense, pipping the likes of Los Campesinos! and Cate Le Bon to the post.
The Welsh award, like the British Mercury Prize, is given each year to the best album of the past year created by a Welsh-born or Wales-based act.
Last October’s inaugural trophy was handed to Gruff Rhys for Hotel Shampoo.

Future of the Left are based in Cardiff and originally formed from previous bands mclusky and Jarcrew.
