Fufanu, Sykur, Prins Póló, and more to play John Grant-curated festival of Nordic music in Hull
To celebrate Hull's status as this year's City Of Culture John Grant is curating a four-day bash highlighting the music from the Nordic nations.
Today a raft of fresh names have been added to the bill, with John Grant himself heading up the wave. Fufanu, Sykur, Prins Póló, and Mugison are all added to the lineup of John Grant’s North Atlantic Flux: Sounds From Smoky Bay. A press release also promises "exclusive collaborations" - but we'll have to wait to find out what those are.
GusGus, Lindstrøm, Wrangler, Tonik Ensemble, Sóley, Ragga Gisladottir, Nordic Affect, Susanne Sundfør, and Nils Bech are all confirmed, with Danish composer Eyvind Gulbrandsen sculpting a brand new work with the Royal Northern College of Music to debut at the festival.
"We’re thrilled to be welcoming John Grant to the city," says Sam Hunt, an executive producer of Hull 2017. "He’s put together a brilliant line-up of musicians, all coming together to create a really special festival and one you’re unlikely to experience anywhere else."
The festival will run 28 April-1 May across various city venues.
