Four Tet leaks Late Night Tales mix following unauthorised remastered reissue
Four Tet’s 2004 contribution to the long-running Late Night Tales mix series is being reissued on vinyl, and it looks like the electronic musician isn’t too pleased about it, with him proceeding to leak the original online.
As Nialler 9 notes, Kieran Hebden recently took to Twitter to lament the news that the mix is to be remastered without his permission. “They never told me,” he writes, before saying “It didn’t need a remaster.”
UPDATE: Late Night Tales have responded to Hebden’s comments, issuing the following statement.
“As Late Night Tales started in the late 90s a lot of our older editions were only on CD. We have been steadily re-issuing the series on digital stores and, due to popular demand, on vinyl. We’d originally told Kieran about the reissue of his 2004 album when the digital was organised at the end of 2012. The reissues carry the original mix itself and the separated tracks. This vinyl edition is the same as that. If there’s been some confusion, Kieran has our details to get back in touch.”
