Foals share new track "2am" from upcoming album Life Is Yours
Foals are back with their first single of 2022, "2am", which will feature on their forthcoming album Life Is Yours.
"2am" is Foals' first new material since November's "Wake Me Up", and is, in frontman Yannis Philippakis' own words, "one of the poppiest songs we’ve ever written."
Philippakis adds, "It’s about repetitive cycles of destructive behaviour, which I think lots of people can relate to, and certainly it’s an expression of something that I struggle with. There’s something cathartic about expressing that feeling to this upbeat music that’s got a sense of release and the hope of resolution."
The new song is produced by John Hill (Florence + The Machine, Cage The Elephant ) and Dan Carey (Tame Impala, Fontaines D.C.), and was recorded during sessions at Bath's Real World Studios and Carey’s south London studio.
"2am" will appear on Foals' upcoming album Life Is Yours, which will follow 2019's Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1 and Part 2 albums.
