Flock of Dimes releases new songs "Pure Love" and "Time"
Jenn Wasner has released two new Flock of Dimes songs, "Pure Love" and "Time", as part of Sylvan Esso's Psychic Hotline Singles Series.
"Pure Love" and "Time" are the first new Flock of Dimes songs since October's "Through Me", and arrive as the latest instalment of Sylvan Esso's Psychic Hotline Singles Series.
The new songs were produced by Wasner and co-producer Nick Sanborn (Sylvan Esso), and recorded at Betty’s in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Wasner says of the tracks, "After spending so much time over the past two years sitting with my grief—both personally and creatively—I’m thrilled to offer up two songs that center joy, hopefulness, and pleasure. What can I say about "Pure Love"? It's a fun pop song about how wanting more is the cause of so much suffering! To me, overall, it’s a song about reaching for a more pure way of being--finding a way to accept our humanity and all of its failures and imperfections so that we can be at peace for a little while while we’re alive. It is also, hopefully, a lot of fun."
Previous Psychic Hotline Singles include Uwade’s "Do You See the Light Around Me?". Bartees Strange, Ohmme and Eric Slick’s "Province", Anjimile’s "Ever New" and "Neon Blue" by Amelia Meath and Blake Mills.
