Flatbush Zombies release new EP, donating all proceeds from merch to charities
Flatbush Zombies have released their new EP now, more than ever, and have announced that they'll be donating funds made from their merch line to "three foundations working to help change our world right now".
The new six-track EP is the first project from Flatbush Zombies since 2018's Vacation In Hell LP.
When announcing the release of their new EP last week, the hip hop group wrote, "We are going to keep this simple because time is precious right now. There is a fight going on outside. They are coming for our hearts, minds, and souls. Black bodies are under attack. Flatbush is for the people. Always has been. Always will be. If you've listened to the music, you know our mission."
"We began this story almost a decade ago, preaching a messages we felt was necessary," Flatbush Zombies continue. "All three of us have spoken out and struggled against racism. It pains us to see the things we’ve mentioned in our music still vividly present in 2020."
The trio add, "We decided to release this EP a few months ago to get our fans through a pandemic. In the past week the pandemic has turned into a battle. This music was made for you. It was released with you in mind. Use it to start a revolution."
On their plan to contribute to charities with their merch sales, Flatbush Zombies write, "We have three thousand pieces of merch to sell for this EP. If we sell every piece of merch, we can generate over $100,000 in one day. Every single dollar will be equally split and donated to three foundations working to help change our world right now. We are organising and strategising how we can affect change on the largest scale possible with your help. Stand with us or stand somewhere else. Now, more than fucking ever."

The group provided an update on the merch sales over the weekend, writing, "We raised over $100,000 IN ONE HOUR last night for three charities that are on the ground changing lives every day. Now we got more work to do. This shirt is live on the site now. PURCHASE NOW. Open selling. No limit. Tell your aunties. ALL NET PROCEEDS will be donated. You’re helping a black person access mental health services. You’re putting food on someone’s table in ATL. You’re protecting the streets we grew up on."
