Flaming Lips releasing “24 hour song” for Record Store Day

Back in 2011, The Flaming Lips recorded a 24 hour song, streaming the entire thing online for Halloween. Now, with Record Store Day approaching, Wayne Coyne and co are planning on releasing the track on vinyl.

Technically only a segment of the original song, the band are putting out a special vinyl edit of what they call “7 Skies H3″. The resulting “extraction and reduction” version totals at 43 minutes in length.

Record Store Day takes place this year on 19 April. If you have 5 hours to spare, you can listen to the first part of “7 Skies H3″ below:
