First Aid Kit are back in fine folk fettle with surprise release "It’s A Shame"
Everybody's favourite Scandi sisters First Aid Kit made an unexpected return today, debuting new single "It’s A Shame".
The track was recorded earlier this year with Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, Laura Veirs) in Portland, Oregan. "It’s A Shame" is an enjoyably sunny listen that follows standalone release "You Are The Problem Here" for International Women’s Day earlier this year.
“We went to Los Angeles last spring and spent five weeks there writing, Klara and Johanna explain of the track’s inspiration. "It was a tough time for the both of us. We were in this beautiful sunny place, but mostly felt sad and lonely. 'It's a Shame' is a song about the emptiness and desperation you feel after a relationship has come to an end; how you will go to great lengths just to numb the pain and feel less lonely."
"It’s A Shame" comes along with the news that First Aid Kit will be playing Shoreditch Town Hall on 1 November, and we can only hope this news heralds more material from the duo in the near future.
