SoCal skate-punks FIDLAR have always demonstrated an affinity for hedonism and oddball gambits; they fuse the two in a new cover of Sheryl Crow's "If It Makes You Happy".
Perhaps strangely, the sprightly noise machines spend a lot of time being sedated in the cover, peppering their rendition with scratchy bursts of volume. Normally sounding a bit like the Sunday morning hangover you get after spending Friday and Saturday strung out on cheap beer and a pick'n'mix bag of narcotics, they veer towards the loud vs. quiet dynamic of The Smashing Pumpkins.
