Fickle Friends announce Weird Years: Season 2 EP with new track "Not In The Mood"
Fickle Friends are back with news of their second EP of 2021, Weird Years: Season 2, and have released fresh track "Not In The Mood" as a first taster.
After their Weird Years: Season 1 EP landed in January, Fickle Friends have returned with new track "Not In The Mood", which lands as a first taster of their Weird Years: Season 2 EP dropping in May.
Vocalist Natti Shiner says of the new track, "This song is about taking back your power. We all do things that aren’t good for us. We keep people in our lives who make us work for their affection, who make us feel like the ‘back up plan’ just in case what they really want doesn’t work out. In classic Fickle Friends style we have dressed up a sad song in party clothes. We hope you love this as much as we loved writing it."
The group's forthcoming EP is inspired by Shiner's experiences during the coronavirus pandemic, and her fascination for Saturn Return, an astrological event which is thought to spark a quarter-life crisis.
All the Weird Years releases are due to be combined into a full album project due for release later this year.
