Feist has a new album on the way - it's called Pleasure and is released next month.
Much to my surprise, I woke up this morning to see the word is out for

But as Leonard Cohen once said "the devil laughs at those who make plans."

I've been so inward facing during the making of this record that I hadn't quite prepared myself to face it, and myself, outward again.

I titled the album Pleasure like I was planting a seed or prophecising some brightness.

The experience of pleasure is mild or deep, sometimes temporal, sometimes a sort of low grade lasting, usually a motivator.

If the way you look at things is how they look then my motivation is to look with a brighter eye.

So there it is, in a nutshell. I'm grateful for your curiosity, the music is en route. Best and soon, Leslie

Last month rumours swirled that Feist was releasing the follow up to 2011 Polaris Prize-winning LP Metals this spring - and it appears that hearsay was on the mark for once, with Feist herself confirming the LP last night in a series of tweets (above). It also turns out that whoever edited her Wikipedia page all those weeks ago knew about the title. There's still no new music, but we do know that Pleasure was produced and recorded with Mocky and Renaud LeTang.
News of Feist's return isn't hugely surprising given she's got a few live plans lined up, including sets at Norway's Øya Festival (which also said in advance that the LP would be out in April), Way Out West in Gothenburg, and at Bon Iver's Eaux Claires in June.
Feist is also set to appear on Broken Social Scene's new record this year. Find out more.
