Father John Misty turned down $250,000 to cover Backstreet Boys in a Chipotle ad
Father John Misty says he turned down an advert opportunity for Chipotle to cover the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" for $250,000 (£190,000).
Joshua Tillman, aka Father John Misty, was speaking at the Newport Folk Festival when he revealed the news. It seems Misty isn't ready to bring his inner Backstreet Boy out just yet.
Misty later took to Twitter to share his views on the finished ad - responding to Portishead's Geoff Barrow no less.
@jetfury @pitchfork have you seen this fucking commercial? It's like if Orwell got hired by an ad agency

Point of the Chipote story was a discussion on whether folk music is good for anything anymore other than just the selling of things

After slamming the Mexican food TV ad by also saying "I don't want your fucking burrito money", someone responded with a mocked-up Chipotle menu inspired by Misty and his burrito quotes.
