Father John Misty has shared a pared-back piano ballad called "Holy Hell" amidst a flurry of political social posts.
"Holy Hell" is a touching ballad full of sincerity - it's nowhere near as overtly surreal/humorous as much of Misty's recent material, and the contrast kinda makes it hit harder.
The track is the latest in a string of one-offs, and follows Misty's cover of Tim Heidecker's anti-Trump track earlier this month.
Since the US election, Misty has been putting his thoughts to Facebook, and over the weekend changed his profile pic to a series of comments on politics.
Father John Misty's "Real Love Baby", the first official single since I Love You, Honeybear, is out now. Grab it on iTunes.
