Father John Misty announces new album with spoken-word vinyl sent to fans
Father John Misty has shared news of his upcoming album Chloe and the Next 20th Century via a spoken-word vinyl sent to some fans.
Over the past month Father John Misty has been teasing his return with cryptic teaser clips on social media, and while he hasn't officially announced a new record on socials yet, some lucky fans received a spoken-word vinyl with details of his new album.
On Reddit, one fan who received the special gift from Bella Union shared a video of the vinyl message, which confirmed the album title and release date. Father John Misty, real name Josh Tillman, said on wax, "Available April 8th, 2022 on Sub Pop and Bella Union. Father John Misty’s new album: Chloe and the Next 20th Century. Get it on vinyl, CD, the other one, uh, cassette. And in beautiful deluxe hardback edition with expanded artwork and much more. Is this real? It is. This is the album. You’re listening to it right now. That’s nice. Eleven new tracks produced by Jonathan Wilson and Josh Tillman. Chloe And The Next 20th Century. It’s technically new."
He hasn't released new music since August 2020's "To S." and "To R." tracks.
Chloe and the Next 20th Century will follow his 2018 album God's Favorite Customer.
