Fans reckon Rihanna, Adele, or Lady Gaga could be announcing their comeback this week
Fans reckon a huge female pop star is due to make their comeback this week as US late night talk shows will host "a special guest" on 8 August.
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night With Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Conan will all host a "special guest" this Thursday (8 August).
While it's not confirmed that the same special guest will appear on all the shows, it could be possible that a huge female star is due to do a US TV takeover to announce their comeback.
Fans have been speculating that Rihanna, Adele, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé are the most likely to make an announcement this week.
Rihanna has been quiet about R9 for the majority of the year, and in June she revealed that she was heading in the studio in July to work on the new record. Last month Rihanna followed Spotify on Instagram, and Spotify posted a picture of Rihanna, hinting that she's getting closer to releasing the new record.
Adele is another name that has been mentioned for the special guest spot. Back in May she joked that her follow up to 2015's 25 would be "a drum n bass record".

Beyoncé is also a popular name mentioned for the TV appearances, although it seems less likely as she just released The Lion King: The Gift.
Lady Gaga's name was also among those mentioned for Thursday's appearances. Her sixth album is yet to be announced, but new music was teased in the HAUS LABORATORIES advert she released last month.
