Fan-made documentary chronicles Kanye West's career to date
With Kanye West soon expected to release, or at least announce, his follow-up album to the strongest of his career, 2010′s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, it seems perfect timing to take a look back to the Chi Town rapper’s career so far.
One of West’s fans, James Workman, agreed and made this, a feature-length home-made documentary on the hip-hop star, entitled Where The Lonely Kids Go When The Bell Rings.
“My first intention was to make like a 10 minute video with Kanye quotes,” Workman said of the project. “But I had so much material so I decided to make it a tad longer.”
Kanye himself isn’t a stranger to the cinematic world, appearing in Spike Jonze’s short film We Were Once A Fairytale, as well as looking set to cameo in Anchorman 2, but there’s never been a biographical film on Kanye’s life. ” the closest I could get to a real documentary,” Workman added. “We really need one in all honesty”.
