Family of Her's announce memorial event in Liverpool
Family of Liverpool duo Her's, who died in a car accident in the US, have announced a memorial event to take place in their hometown next month.
Her's died while travelling to a gig in Santa Ana, California on 27 March from Arizona, just days after playing Best Fit's first SXSW showcase.
The family of Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading have announced a memorial event for next month, featuring DJ sets from The Orielles, Happyness, Pizzagirl, and Brad Stank. All proceeds from the event will go towards the organisation of workshops and projects in support of the local homeless community, based at St Luke’s.
The duo's label, Heist or Hit, said in a statement, "Whilst we continue to feel devastated by the loss of our friends, it was very clear from the outpouringof love for them that there should be an event to celebrate their lives and the amazing music they brought to the world. Stephen and Audun were always very humble and particularly loved house parties with friends. We hope that, in addition to the official event on 16th June, fans of Her’s throughout the world will gain some comfort by holding house parties of their own on the same day."
Alongside news of the memorial event, a posthumous video for "She Needs Him" has been released. The single features on their 2018 album, Invitation To Her's.
