Experimental music website The Liminal announces its closure
Launched in the autumn of 2010, today experimental music website The Liminal has announced its closure.
Founded by Matt Poacher, Scott McMillan, Andrew Bowman and original Best Fit co-founder Rich Hughes, the website quickly established itself a haven for those whose music tastes veered towards the more obscure.
Their editorial stance focusing on what inspired rather than what was simply on trend – “we focus most strongly at the margins, on the music that others may be blind to…. We are as excited by the experimental, as we are exhausted by the ephemeral” – The Liminal became, over the course of nearly three years, home to many weird and wonderful new acts.
Liminal co-founder Matt Poacher tweeted earlier today:
It pains me to say this, but it’s been coming for a while: as of today, The Liminal is no more. (@HughesRich, @MandrewB @s_mcm_)

The site will be live for a while, but there’ll be no new content. It was 90% lack of resources and 10% apathy what killed us off.
