With a career spanning decades, the venerable and prolific Rufus Wainwright is set to release his mammoth 19-disc box set House of Rufus on 18 July via Universal. An overwhelmingly comprehensive retrospective of his recordings to date, the box set will contain 6 studio albums, 2 concerts on CD, a collection of rarities, soundtrack numbers, collaborations, demos and lets not forget the 6 DVD’s that will be in there as well.
All of this will be housed in a beautiful, red velvet encased, 90 page hardback book containing; rare and unseen photos, Rufus’ early hand drawn tour posters, handwritten lyrics and extensive sleeve notes with interviews with Neil Tennant, Martha Wainwright, Linda Thompson, Lenny Waronker not to mention an introduction by Rufus himself.
Finally, Rufus asked his fans to submit photos they had taken, or art they had created of him over the years with the decision that we would choose his personal favourite and include the picture in the artwork for the box set. So here we can reveal the winner (pictured above), and a few other runner-up pieces that will all adorn the vast collection of music outlined above.
