Everything Everything will give Off The Record Keynote speech
Off The Record - a brand new multi-venue emerging music event/conference bought to you by the minds behind Kendall Calling, Sound City, Blue Dot and Louder Than War - have confirmed Mercury Music Prize nominees, Everything Everything, will give the special keynote speech at this year's inaugural event, taking place in Manchester on 4 November.
As part of the conference element, attendees will be able to take away a wealth of expertise and knowledge from big names within the music industry, who will be on a wide variety of panels. Everything Everything’s Jonathan Higgs and Jeremy Pritchard will be in conversation with acclaimed DJ and writer Dave Haslam
Brian Cannon, the photographer behind Oasis’s iconic ‘Definitely Maybe’ album cover, will be speaking with David Drake, the man behind the neon photography surrounding The 1975’s Mercury Prize nominated I Like It When You Sleep ...
Panel session - ‘If you’re gonna do it, do it right’ - will see champions of live music sharing their top tips and tricks regarding venues, spaces, production, promotion and most importantly, how to get creative with turning gigs into events, attracting the new breed of audience.
Guests will also be able to gain exclusive first-hand knowledge on how to build their career in the music industry, from young industry professionals who have got their foot in the door in the ‘My Generation’ panel. An instrumental part of the Madchester era, curator Phil Saxe, who discovered & managed The Happy Mondays, will be interviewing professionals who will be able to share how they landed their dream job and provide key tips on what it takes to land yours.
Relaxed interactive ‘workshop sessions’ will see industry experts will be covering everything from Sync Deals, Touring, Health & Well Being, plus lots more, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
Off The Record is all about new music and innovative ideas. Following the conference, from afternoon until deep into the night, Off The Record Live will cast a powerful spotlight on the best new music, hosting showcase performances by 30 emerging artists across 6 legendary performance venues around the Northern Quarter
