Esben and the Witch leave Matador Records, crowdfund third album
Brighton’s Esben and the Witch have announced they’re parting ways with Matador to urging fans to help fund their next LP.
The band are hoping to record the album, what will be their third full-length to date, in Chicago with Steve Albini – setting up a PledgeMusic account to help the financial side of the matter.
In a statement released online, the group call the record their “most exciting and ambitious studio project to date”, with a release scheduled for early autumn 2014.
“With Steve’s help, we will capture the live essence of the music we have written, push ourselves as far as possible and make the music as powerful as it can be,” they write.
Help make the project a reality here. The band have raised 13% of their target so far at the time of publishing.
