Ennio Morricone announces UK and European shows to celebrate 60 years of being in the film industry
Legendary film composer Ennio Morricone has announced a string of new shows for next year, including one in London and another in Dublin.
Morricone will be touring to celebrate 60 years in the music/film industry. The famed composer, who provided scores for The Untouchables, Once Upon a Time in America and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, said of the shows:
"Performing my work live in all these different cities for people of so many different ages and cultural backgrounds is an incredibly gratifying experience. Next year I will celebrate my professional career of 60 Years during which I composed over 600 works... I will perform a whole new program with new highlights, which I am already working on. Of course there will always be the classic pieces from the great Sergio Leone westerns and The Mission. But overall the experience will be different this time. I plan to include a suite for example with pieces of music, which I composed for 7 different movies which all won Oscars."
The UK/Ireland shows will take place at Dublin's 3Arena on 14 February 2016, and at London's O2 Arena two days later on 16 February 2016.
Tickets for Morricone's new shows will be available here from 9am tomorrow (5 June).
