Eminem set to open Mom's Spaghetti restaurant in Detroit this week
According to a local advert, Eminem is opening a Mom's Spaghetti restaurant in his hometown of Detroit this week.
Last Friday (24 September) a 30-second TV advert aired on Detroit's WXYZ-TV channel, and saw Eminem vomitting a takeout box of 'Mom's Spaghetti" over the Detroit river. The advert also teased menu items including spaghetti (with and without meatballs) and something called the 's'ghetti sandwich'.
The retsuarant name is inspired by one of Eminem's most famous lines from his 2002 hit "Lose Yourself", where he raps: "His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti / He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready."
According to the advert, the restaurant will open in Detroit this Wednesday (29 September).
Billboard reports that the number that flashed on the screen during the advert confirms there'll be a second-floor store for fans called The Trailer.
The Detroit News reports that Mom's Spaghetti is a partnership with Union Joints restaurant group, who also worked on Eminem's previous Mom's Spaghetti pop-ups.
