Emily Eavis reveals Glastonbury organisers have applied for a licence to host concert in September
Glastonbury's Emily Eavis has revealed that organisers have applied for a licence to hold a concert at Worthy Farm this September.
Back in January Glastonbury Festival organisers announced the cancellation of this year's event due to the coronavirus pandemic, marking the second consecutive year that the festival has been called off due to COVID-19.
The same month founder Michael Eavis said he would like to hold a "smaller" event in September to mark the festival's belated 50th anniversary.
Emily Eavis has provided an update on the possibility of the September event via her Instagram today (19 March), revealing that they've applied "for a licence for a concert at the farm in September (around the time we'd usually do Pilton Party)".
She added, "Of course, we've no idea yet whether we'll able to do that, but we wanted to get the application in to be in with a chance. Unlikely we'll have any news for a couple of months - but will let you know right here when we do. We're also putting an application in for a family-friendly (ie not for partying!) campsite at the farm for this summer. Again, it's not definite that it'll go ahead but needed to set the early wheels in motion now."

In January Emily Eavis also said organisers are considering hosting a livestream event, "A lot of big artists have been in touch offering to perform for us at the farm, so we’re doing everything we can to make that happen. We would love to build a show that can be watched at home by people all over the world, and of course it would be a useful way for us to make some very welcome income."
