Emily Eavis hopes the UK government will "announce some guidance" for live events industry
After thanking Glastonbury Festival fans for sharing memories and messages following The Glastonbury Experience 2021, Emily Eavis is hoping the UK government will "announce some guidance" for the live events industry.
Over the weekend BBC hosted the second consecutive Glastonbury Experience on digital platforms in place of the cancelled festival due to the ongoing pandemic.
Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis took to social media yesterday (27 June) with a statement thanking everyone celebrating the festival with messages and memories online.
As well as giving thanks, Eavis also wrote how she hopes "the government are now focusing on this great industry and ready to announce some guidance for the many events which are currently hanging in the balance."
Eavis continued, "There is a whole ecosystem of artists, crew and suppliers who desperately need this support now or risk going out of business forever."

Her statement comes after the government's decision to finally publish the findings from their Events Research Programme last week after the live music and theatre industries launched legal action against the government for withholding the data.
