UK chart ever-present, Emeli Sandé has beaten one of The Beatles’ many sales records, a feat they had previously held for almost 50 years.
The singer’s debut album, Our Version of Events, has now spent longer in the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart than any other first full-length to date. That includes The Beatles’ own Please Please Me, released back in 1963.
Sandé’s LP has now managed to hold down a Top 10 charting for 63 consecutive weeks, beating the 62 week stretch The Beatles managed.
The British musician said she was “completely lost for words” following the achievement.
