Ellis announces new EP with lead track "Hospital"
Ontario-based songwriter Ellis is back with news of her upcoming EP nothing is sacred anymore, and has unveiled new track "Hospital" as the lead single.
"Hospital" is the first release from Ellis since last summer's Bedroom Covers collection, and marks the first new material since her 2020 debut album Born Again.
Ellis, real name Linnea Siggelkow, says of the new single, "I guess you could say I’m accident prone, but it’s those moments when bad or scary things happen that can be so revealing. You really see who shows up for you, who sticks around through it all."
On the new EP, Siggelkow says, "I have a lot of difficulty feeling grounded at the best of times, and it had been feeling like the floor was falling out from under me. Making these songs was something I felt like I could have control over - they gave me somewhere to stand."
nothing is sacred anymore also sees Siggelkow take creative control, aside from working with co-producer and mixer Charlie Spencer (Dizzy) as a co-producer and collaborating with Chastity frontman Brandon Williams on one of the songs.
Siggelkow adds, "I was very intentional throughout my process in a way I hadn't been able to be before, especially in choosing who to work with, and this unlocked some of the most special collaborative experiences I've ever been a part of."
