El Guincho announces new record HiperAsia, reveals lead single "Cómix"
Spanish producer El Guincho has announced new record HiperAsia and is streaming its lead single, "Cómix" ft. Mala Rodríguez.
El Guincho - aka Pablo Díaz-Reixa - last released an album in 2010.
The LP draws inspiration from "a string of Chinese bazaars in Madrid". Díaz-Reixa says of his new album:
"I was blown away and entirely fascinated by the place. After visiting I discarded almost all the material I had composed and started from scratch with the premise: how would that place sound if it were music? Hiperasia is Madrid in macro. Las Tablas, China City, the M-30, Dalian Wanda Group, the Edificio España. It means me adapting to a new and exotic way of life. Experiencing more the city, spending more time in its streets, an experience much less private than Barcelona."
HiperAsia is due out 12 February (digital; 11 March physical) on Nacional. The new record follows 2010's Pop Negro.
