Editors announce first album with new member Blanck Mass and share new single "Karma Climb"
Editors have announced their seventh album and first since welcoming Blanck Mass as a full-time member, EBM, and have released new cut "Karma Climb" to accompany the news.
"Karma Climb" is Editors' second outing from EBM, following April's "Heart Attack", and is teamed with a Hand Held Cine Club-directed video.
Lead vocalist Tom Smith says of the new song, "It's about hedonistic escapism, not only from the world generally, but also from what people think of you."
EBM will follow Editors' 2018 album Violence, and will be their first since welcoming frequent collaborator Blanck Mass into the band as a full-time member.
The album title is an acronym of Editors and Blanck Mass, and is also a reference to Electronic Body Music, which has heavily influenced the band's new album.
Smith said of working with Blanck Mass, real name Benjamin John Power, "Ben has certainly been a shot of adrenaline in our creative process. The songs are so immediate, and in your face."
