Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder shares advice he gave Bradley Cooper before filming A Star Is Born
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam has shared the main piece of advice he gave to Bradley Cooper before he went to film A Star Is Born.
Speaking to Howard Stern, Vedder spoke about spending time with Bradley Cooper as he prepared for his role in A Star Is Born.
Cooper spent a couple of days with Vedder observing and shadowing the rock legend, and Vedder gave Cooper a piece of advice that is likely never to be forgotten. He told Stern, "He just asked me a few questions and I told him things like, you know, 'Make sure your guitar covers your balls at all times'."
When Stern asked how important that is, Vedder responded, "Well, I think sometimes the guitar gets a little high. It looks more like a bib… That way, if the crowd throws anything, like an orange or tennis ball, you’ll be covered."
In the same interview Vedder also discussed his reservations about the film, saying "none of them get it right". Despite the assumption, Vedder was actually "blown away" by the film, "I will admit the first time he asked if we would come down to see it, on the way over, I’m thinking of all the ways I could let him down nicely, you know? I want to be honest, but how do I? So I was a little nervous. And I tell you, when I saw it, I was just fucking blown away. It just took me there, and what he can do with his eyes and what [Cooper and Lady Gaga] did together and then Sam Elliott. It really took me there. I’m getting chills right now."
