Ed Sheeran releases new "Christmas present" single "Afterglow"
Ed Sheeran has returned with new single "Afterglow" after teasing on socials that a "Christmas present" would be delivered today (21 December).
It's already been over a year since Ed Sheeran made an appearance on Stormzy's "Own It" and released his No.6 Collaborations Project, and yesterday (20 December) Sheeran teased on Instagram that he would be returning with a "Christmas present" today (21 December).
Now that 21 December is here, Sheeran has delivered a standalone single titled "Afterglow", which is accompanied by a performance video directed by Nic Minns and Zak Walters.
Sheeran writes of the new song on Instagram, "Hey guys. "Afterglow" is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy ! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x."
