Ed Sheeran is going to be on Australian soap Home and Away
Ed Sheeran is popping on a jet and heading to Summer Bay - yes, he's gonna be on Home and Away.
Sheeran says of his cameo: “It’s an Australian institution. It’s always on in my local chip shop. I got asked to do it and it sounded like it could be fun. I did Shortland Street in New Zealand as well and I’m sure if Emmerdale or EastEnders ever ask me in England I would do that as well.”
This marks the first time an international celebrity has visited the show, and by far the biggest since the appearance of Oz sensation John Farnham decades ago. Neighbours, the show's major rival, is au fait with big names treading their boards, with Lily Allen, the Pet Shop Boys, and more all making appearances.
If you wanna catch Sheeran show off his acting chops further, you can catch him on FX in a recurring guest role on The Bastard Executioner. His cameo in Home and Away airs on Channel 5 this Winter in the U.K..
Sheeran's latest record X is out now via Atlantic.
