Brick Lane venue, 93 Feet East have announced they will reopen.
The East London bar was raided by the Met Police back in December, where 175 officers and dog units were deployed after reports of Class A drug use. The owners temporarily closed the bar after what was named Operation Condor, before being forced to shut their doors in January for what, at the time, seemed to be permanently.
Now however, as FACT point out, the club will now start running again “immediately”. The venue posted the following message on Facebook:
“We are delighted to announce that on 17th May 2013, Thames Magistrates’ Court allowed 93 Feet East’s appeal against the decision of Tower Hamlets council on 7th January 2013 to close 93 Feet East. 93 Feet East, which has been at the heart of Brick Lane’s evening economy since the year 2000 as part of The Old Truman Brewery, is free to reopen immediately.”
