Hoxton haunt, The Macbeth is facing the threat of closure after a planning application has been made to build new residential flats near the venue.
A statement given with the venue’s online petition says that the 9 flats are being proposed at “the back and to the side” of the building. The petition continues: “If this building goes ahead and the new residents complain about noise from our venue, we could lose our licence and be forced to close.”
The Macbeth is situated on Hoxton Street and has been running as a music establishment for over 100 years. You can sign their petition here.
