DZ Deathrays team up with The Bronx's Matt Caughthran for hard-hitting new single "Year Of The Dog"
DZ Deathrays have recruited The Bronx's frontman Matt Caughthran for vicious new single "Year Of The Dog".
"Year Of the Dog" is the second offering to be previewed from their upcoming fourth album Positive Rising: Part 1, after last month's "IN-TO-IT".
Vocalist and guitarist Shane Parsons says of their new collaboration, "Matt from The Bronx—one of our all-time favourite bands—drove an hour from his house, came into the vocal booth and nailed his part on, like, the first go. I felt bad for making him drive so far. But it was also just a showcase of how good a vocalist he is…and that was unreal for me, because now with Lachlan in the band, I’ve been trying to approach things from a vocalist’s perspective, and it shows you how hard you’ve got to work."
DZ Deathrays' new album follows on from last year's Bloody Lovely. It was written over a two-week period in LA, and also features contributions from Kirsty Tickle of Exhibitionist, as well as a song co-written with Kim Moyes of The Presets. The album is produced and mixed by Miro Mackie (St Vincent, Cold War Kids, Waax).
