Robin Richards, the principal composer of Dutch Uncles, has announced his debut solo EP Castel, as well as sharing the lead offering "Toompea".
"Toompea" arrives two years after Dutch Uncles' last record Big Balloon.
Expanding on the new single, Richards says, ""Toompea" is set during the Estonian fight for independence, and is an exploration of the impact that Soviet oppression in the Baltics had on native artists in the '70s and '80s. It's written in three movements, and named after the ancient castle which houses the parliament of Estonia."
Richards' debut solo EP will feature two Welsh-language tracks.
Tracklist:
- Cofi
- Arvo
- Gefail Yr Ynys
- Toompea
- B-R
- Llongau Caenarfon
"Toompea" is out now. Robin Richards' Castel EP will arrive 6 December via PRAH Recordings.
