Du Blonde announces new Ezra Furman collaboration "I'm Glad That We Broke Up"
Du Blonde has confirmed that a new Ezra Furman collaboration called "I'm Glad That We Broke Up" is arriving this week.
After teaming up with Garbage's Shirley Manson on "Medicated" in November last year, Du Blonde has announced her next single "I'm Glad That We Broke Up".
Du Blonde announced the new single via Instagram yesterday (31 January), revealing that it's a collaboration with Ezra Furman, and that it's arriving on Wednesday (3 February). Du Blonde wrote, "Ok we can’t keep it in anymore. Me and Ezra Furman have a single coming out on WEDNESDAY. It’s called "I’m Glad That We Broke Up" and it’s our take on a 60s girl group/glam rock explosion."
She added, "I feel like Ezra and I have been travelling towards a duet for years and we finally got our shit together. The track is about breaking up, regretting it and getting back together. It’s about realising that sometimes being in love doesn’t have to be all fireworks and excitement and that having someone you can fart next to is precious."

Du Blonde, real name Beth Jeans Houghton, previously directed the video for Furman's Twelve Nudes single "Calm Down AKA I Should Not Be Alone" in 2019.
It looks likely that "I'm Glad That We Broke Up" will feature on Du Blonde's forthcoming album Homecoming, which is engineered, produced and self released by Du Blonde, and was written and recorded between LA, London and Newcastle.
