Dream Wife unveil breezy cut "Hasta La Vista" and launch new podcast series
Dream Wife have shared "Hasta La Vista", the second single from their forthcoming LP So When You Gonna…, as well as launching a new podcast series with the same name as the album.
"Hasta La Vista" follows on from the anthemic lead single "Sports!", and arrives with a video featuring clips of childhood memories that is edited by Dream Wife's own Rakel Mjöll.
""Hasta" is one of the first songs we wrote after we completed our touring cycle for our debut album," explain Dream Wife. "We’d played over 200 shows in 18 months and had returned to London to discover that things around us had changed and so had we. Close relationships fell apart and others came together. This song is about accepting and embracing that change and being thankful to what that was and what it is today."
They add, "Being on tour has some similarities to living under quarantine - the separation from loved ones, the submission to the process, the large amounts of time in contained spaces with the same group of people. We built this band around relentless touring and the celebration and love of the live show and the community that it creates. And we’re very much looking forward to experiencing that again, when the time is right."
As well as releasing a new single, Dream Wife have launched their So When You Gonna… podcast series, which will see them speak to different creatives linked to the band about refining their craft. The first episode is an interview with their new album producer Marta Salogni, who speaks about how to get into music production. Find out more.
So When You Gonna... is Dream Wife's second LP, and will follow on from their 2018 self-titled debut.
Dream Wife's Alice Go says of the team, "It was amazing to work with this community of womxn on this album who are supporting each other in an industry that is so male-dominated. It was a way of us practicing what we preach. It felt like an honour to be able to deliver this baby with these three amazing midwives."
