
Drake withdraws 2022 Grammy nominations but hasn't given a reason why
A Recording Academy representative has confirmed that Drake has chosen to withdraw his two 2022 Grammy nominations, but hasn't given as reason for his decision.
Last night (6 Decmber) Variety reported that the Recording Academy representative confirmed Drake's decision to withdraw his two Grammy nominations, but Drake's reps didn't respond to requests for comment.
While the reasoning behind the decision is not yet known, the Grammys reportedly honnoured the request, which was made by Drake and his management.
Drake was up for two Grammys in 2022, including Best Rap Album for Certified Lover Boy and Best Rap Performance for "Way 2 Sexy" with Future and Young Thug.
Variety notes that instead of replacing Drake's nominations with the next most-voted choice, the rap categories will move forward with just four nominees.
Over the weekend another Grammy nomination was updated, removing Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff and St. Vincent as songwriters from Rodrigo's debut album Sour, which is up for Album of the Year.
