Drake urges Kevin Durant to join Toronto Raptors, gets fined $25,000 by NBA
Drake does like to use his celebrity influence in the sports world, shown more recently when he persuaded Jermaine Defoe to sign for Toronto FC. Now, he’s been seen to be tapping up Oklahoma City Thunder basketball star Kevin Durant for the Toronto Raptors.
Drizzy is “Global Ambassador” of the Raptors and recently invited Durant to a concert in his home city. “Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something,” he told the crowd at the show. “You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”
The NBA didn’t seem to like that, however, fining the Raptors $25,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rules. We’re pretty sure Drake can afford it though.
