Drake-produced posthumous Aaliyah album scrapped
It’s been long known that Drake has been working on a posthumous LP from late R&B singer Aaliyah. Now, however, it doesn’t look like his efforts will ever see the light of day, with the project pulled all together.
The Toronto star’s right-hand man and fellow producer on the album, Noah “40″ Shebib told Vibe he “wasn’t comfortable and didn’t like the stigma” that came from the public’s backlash to the idea.
“The world reacting to Drake’s involvement so negatively, I just wanted nothing to do with it,” he told the magazine. “That was a very sad experience for me.”
Aaliyah’s mother also objected to the release, which seemingly was the last straw.
